New Year 2012: Putting things into perspective

Welcome to your New Year! If you're like most people, reflecting on the year past, you are probably ready for a change. But what if that year was dominated by change, how much more can I change?

Happy New Year 2012!

Change is the inevitable occurrence of our lives. Change brings about wondrous results and yet change, at the same time, can be painful. Painful because we step out of the known and into the unknown; we move ourselves away from what is comfortable into what is uncomfortable.

The paradox lies in the fact that what we had considered most comfortable wasn't.

For you see if it had been so we would not have ourselves on a course to change it.

Positive Change is linked to the Greater Good. That greater good could represent a move toward our families and loved ones or a move away from the same. The harm caused in our lives by other persons with whom we have associated ourselves results in two inescapable realities: the first is the character of the other person and the second, and most important to consider, is our own characters.

"If we truly endeavor to seize the opportunity to make this year better than the last then we must get honest with ourselves and STOP blaming other people for our short comings."

If we truly endeavor to seize the opportunity to make this year better than the last then we must get honest with ourselves and STOP blaming other people for our short comings. Other people will certainly blame you for their own short comings but YOU have to rise above that impulse to the attitude of self-righteousness. This is your year to exorcise those old demons.

Tweaking myself for the New Year I can identify some several areas where I can do better and I most certainly will. But to do that I first have to become honest with myself; I have to take responsibility for my own short coming so that I can improve upon them. Improving doesn't require me to "Dwell" on the past but to take constructive actions [or inactions] to move myself beyond that past.

Positive change is correct action, not necessarily the most comfortable of actions. So, to create positive change let's put the past year into a clearer prospective; let's analyze what was truly productive and what was truly destructive [or un-productive] along our paths.

The purpose of this short article is to welcome you into your New Year! Your success in your personal life as well as your professional life is squarely on your own shoulders and that is GREAT NEWS! because the judgments of others are not determinative of your character, your motives or your actions. Focus this year, starting today, on the realities that you will create and make it happen.
